Ceramics Care
CLEANING
Bréza Ceramics pieces are built for everyday use, but do require care when using and cleaning. Ceramics made of stoneware clay can be washed in the dishwasher *, but to retain the quality of your piece and ensure longevity, hand-washing with a soft sponge and mild detergent is recommended. Wash your ceramic piece right after use, especially if it’s matte glazed or have unglazed parts.
* If ceramics have golden or other metallic details, only handwashing is recommended. Dishwasher can destroy golden details.
TIPS
Due to the nature of some glazes I advise to avoid using ceramics in the microwave, especially ceramics that have golden or other metallic details because it could cause sparking in the microwave.
Avoid moving ceramics between extreme hot or cold environments such as an oven or freezer, as this could cause thermal shock and result in fragility and cracking or breakage.
MATERIALS
Stoneware
I made ceramics out of stoneware clay, which fired at higher temperatures, above 1200°C, becomes vitrified, non-porous and gets a beautiful stone like finish. Stoneware is a more durable, denser material, and is meant for high-quality tableware.
